Rip Single Episodes - Dvdshrink, Winrar, AutoGK

I found a way 2 rip single episodes with relative ease, so have made a mini tutorial 4 u. U need 3 softwares - Dvdshrink, Winrar and AutoGK [Steps + Images regarding conversion process are given below]

--------------------------------------------------

Steps - Dvdshrink:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1] Insert DVD into PC
2] Start Dvdshrink and click on 'Open Disc' icon - Dvdshrink will now analyze the disc
3] Click on the 'Re-author' icon and drag across the title [episode] u want to rip, to the left hand side
- u can edit settings through the 'Compression Settings' tab e.g. which subs/audio u want to delete/keep - only drag 1 title across as otherwise AutoGK will not be able to convert them separately
4] Click on 'Backup' icon, this brings up a popup where u can change quality/region/name/type settings. For now only change 'backup target' to 'ISO Image File', choose where u wanna save it and click 'OK'
- u only need to edit quality settings if u chose to compress in the 'Compression Settings
- if u did choose to do so, go to the 'Quality Settings' tab, in the popup and select both boxes - leave the option on sharp (default)
5] Wait for Dvdshrink to do its thing, when its done its play a tone and give u a message saying its finished
6] Click 'OK' and close Dvdshrink
--------------------------------------------------
Steps - Winrar:
~~~~~~~~~~~~

1] Start Winrar, click on 'File' - 'Open Archive', and then Open your ISO Image File

2] Click on 'VIDEO_TS' and then on 'Extract to' icon, this brings up a popup from where u can choose where to extract the files, then click on 'OK' to extract

3] Once done, close Winrar
- you can now delete the ISO Image File

--------------------------------------------------

Steps - AutoGK:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
1]Start AutoGK
2] Choose Input and find the extracted 'VIDEO_TS' folder, and choose the 'IFO' file
- in my case 'VTS_01_0.ifo'
3] Choose output folder
4] Select which audio and subs u want, by ticking the appropriate boxes
5] Choose the size of the finished file, or make a custom size
- for this choose 'custom size' and type in the size u want e.g. 300 [stands for 300 mb]
OPTIONAL
- Click on 'Advanced Settings' keep video settings auto
- Change audio to VBR for mp3 audio and bitrate at 128
- Or choose to keep original dvd audio - AC3 [better]
- Choose 'XviD' in Codec and 'Use external subtitles' in Subtitle options
6] Click on 'Add Job', and the 'Start' - wait for process to finish
7] Once done the AutoGK log [bottom left hand] will say something like this 'Job finished. Total time: X minutes X seconds'
8] Close AutoGK Open your output folder and enjoy your converted AVI episode, complete with subs
- u can now deletethe original folder you had extracted
an eternity spent in agony
This is a poem I wrote when I was feeling a bit down and in the dumps so to speak, hope u like it and can connect with its message.
an eternity spent in agony
What is the point in crying, when the hurt will not go away
If there is a place worse than hell, then I am in it
Everyday of my life is like an eternity spent in agony
I cannot remember, for none of my memories are my own
Fate has dealt me a cruel hand, in turn I have bore anew
a sea of shattered dreams, with nobody else but me to keep company
Death is the only everlasting escape, but to escape would be too great an adventure
so I endure, once more again, until a new sea of shattered dreams is born
And from its remnants, rises hope anew, like the phoenix of lore
Anways see you soon and keep posting out there.
Hello all today I want to talk of Hybridisation.
Hybrid means mixing two or more things to make something new. Thus the term Hybridisation refers to this process of creating something new.
Now you ask why talk about Hybridisation? my answer is why not.
In Biological form it is creating a mo
re vigorous plant by mixing genealogies of different species.
In Chemical form mixing different elements to gain a different product e.g. carbon and oxygen can produce carbon dioxide.
In Linguistics it is to do with mixing different languages to suit different social situations e.g. with family or friends.
In Technology for example currently the creatio
n of hybrid HD/ Blu-ray discs.
These can all be used to produce something to better mankind e.g. GM crops e.g. rice with extra vitamin A. Or worsen it e.g. the well known fantasy story of a mad scientist and his monstrous creation.
I made the introduction to the post lengthy because I want you to understand that Hybridisation may not be a bad thing after all.
Now for the real reason behind the post. I was bored and thought to myself if it was possible in the future, that we would have better technologies by co-operating with each other, to reveal our own discoveries. Me being a gamer would be presented with unimaginable opportunities of virtual gaming, and so I devised a basic image for you gaming fans, to show you what I see to be very plausible, even probable in the future of gaming.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Hello all, its the new year, end of 2007. YAY! Anyway I don't really have a new year's resolution and so i thought that I'd start blogging, so this is my first post. To say hi how's it going, and hope that you had a good year. Basically I'll be putting up links to sites that I find, that allow you to download stuff. Of course as always it's up to you to choose if you use them, so it's your responsibility if you do illegal stuff, like downloading off them. And to cover myself I'm only adding links and do not condone illegal actions. On a lighter note some days I might write about myself, like today I'll be going to a new year party, I hope you - my avid readers - have fun celebrating too.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
